A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

It was, for some, the best Bharathanatyam ballet they have ever witnessed. For some, it was so stunning that they could not move from their seats. Either way one thing was sure. The show “THE SACRED GRAHAS” presented by Rasika Dance Academy for our fundraising on 3rd of May in UNSW Science Theatre was well received by art lovers and our supporters. It was staged in front of an almost sold out crowd. Sydney’s popular Malayalam radio presenter Emie Roy was the Master of Ceremonies. After a short presentation about Ozindcare and the welcome speech by Joint Secretary Sindhu Unnirajan, Mrs Manjula Viswanath and her Rasika Dance Academy students took over the stage. What followed was more than two hours of high quality dance program giving real feast to the eyes and ears. The program was finished by 9:15 pm. After the show, food packets were supplied to those who attended.

Rasika helps to raise 10k

About $10,000 were raised by Rasika’s Dance Ballet program to go to the Ozindcare charity funds. The money will be used to “help the helpless” according to the urgency and the priority. As usual, it will go to the needy in full.
It was clearly an example of very good team work with Rasika and Ozindcare that we were able to attain this result. As always we had the help of many supports and volunteers for the show. A special dish was prepared and supplied by Ramabai to include in the food packets and the sweets were supplied by Mr.Daniel. Both were donations.

Gopinath Muthukad

The world famous magician Gopinath Muthukad urged all his viewers to support Ozindcare for the charity work they do in India, Australia and other parts of the world. He made the comment during his well received magic show which was conducted in Sydney Bahai Centre on 29th March 2014.

During the function, on behalf of Ozindcare, Mr.Muthukad handed over financial help for Rincy Rajan, a nursing student suffering with leukaemia who is facing a serious financial hardship and also for Mr. Valsaraj, from Vyanad who is diagnosed with Cirrhosis of liver requiring transplantation needing financial help from others. The cheques were received on behalf of the beneficiaries by Mr. Rochi and Mr. Zaneer respectively.

Ozindcare raised more than $1000 through food sale during this function. We thank Mr.Muthukad and the Organisers of this event for giving us the opportunity.
