18 Years & Counting

Ozindcare has been in service for more than 18 years. Over this period we have helped more than 200 individuals, families and few organisations both in terms of financial assistance and otherwise.

It all started with sending quality used clothes to India to help the victims of natural disasters and other misfortunes. When it became financially nonviable to send material through air/ sea fright, due to the cost involved we decided to help them financially. So far we have supported many families in India and other countries including Australia collecting and dispersing about $200,000. This amount may seem very little compared to other charities who work on a corporate basis. Fund raising, administration and distributions are all done by volunteers thereby we are able to make sure that the amount collected reaches the needy in full.

It is great to know that there are many people in the community willing to help Ozindcare to “help the helpless”. Everyone has the urge to help others, but when it comes to reality, time is the major concern. But when we have lots of volunteers the work will be shared by all then the time will not be a concern. Yes, we need volunteers to help us to go on with our activities.

There are different ways you can help.

  • Help us to sell the tickets for our fund raising programs
  • Help us to cook for our food sales
  • Help us to increase the membership
  • Spreading our message in the wider community
  • Any other way that you think it is possible to help us…
Ozindcare -
How it works

The organisation was started in the year 1995 with the sole aim of helping the helpless without any affiliation with politics and or religion.

The BEGINING

Initially the membership fee for life member was $500/- with an annual membership fee of $100. Then the Organisation was registered with the Dept. of fair trading in NSW with a written constitution. This was to make sure that only people with genuine interest in the charity could work in the committee. Ordinary membership was open to the public with an annual family membership of $20/-

After about 5 years, once the stability of the organisation was confirmed the committee decided to amend the clause of life membership in the constitution opening the way for other genuinely interested people in the community to join Ozindcare committee. From then on, every year new committee is formed during the AGM and it gives plenty of opportunity to the members of the community to work for Ozindcare. The life members function as the parent committee.

Once the committee receives a request for financial assistance from any individual or other charities, the application is scrutinised with very stringent measure to make sure that the request is genuine. Usually the request comes from the members in the community in Australia and also directly from India. Once the possible amount is agreed upon in the committee depending on the fund available and urgency, the money is disbursed in the form of draft or in urgent cases in cash. We always make sure that it reaches the correct person/organisation.

Our accounts are audited annually by an accredited accounting firm. That is how we help the helpless.

Membership drive

We are embarked on a member ship drive in 2014 aiming to increase the paid up membership to at least 100 families by end of this year. Our request to all our current members is to get as many families as possible to join Ozindcare.

Together we can make a difference. It costs only $25 for a family membership and $10 for individual membership.
